How long does shipping take?
Orders in-stock are processed and dispatched typically within 1-2 business days from the order date.
We ship worldwide and dispatch orders with Australia Post and DHL Express.
For domestic orders within Australia, once dispatched it takes approximately 2-8 business days with Standard Post and 1-4 business days with Express Post. For international orders, once dispatched it takes approximately 4-6 business days with DHL Express Worldwide Shipping, 6-10 business days with Australia Post Express Shipping or 6-27 business days with Australia Post Standard Shipping.
But keep in mind these are estimates only, and actual delivery times will depend on available flights to your country, customs, and processing at your local facility. That's unfortunately out of our control!
Please refer to our Shipping Policy for more information. -
The product I want is sold out, do you offer Pre-Orders?
We have removed the pre-order function from our store as we re-stock our popular garments regularly. But please feel free to reach out to us via email (hello@mestizafilipina.co) if you would like to place a pre-order on a garment that is sold out.
If you have pre-ordered one of our pieces, please note that it can take 4-6 weeks (and may sometimes take up to 8 weeks) to arrive at our warehouse in Brisbane before we can dispatch your full order.
Often we receive pre-orders much earlier, but it depends on what stock we receive and how quickly our garments can be made by our seamstresses. We’re unable to provide a specific date estimate on any pre-ordered garment's arrival.
The delivery time, from dispatching from our store to arriving at your destination, depends on the shipping option you've purchased and available flights to your country, customs, and processing at your local facility. -
Are your clothing standard US sizing?
Our clothes are artisanally made in the Philippines and the sizing may vary from international standard sizes.
You can find size guides within the product photos (please swipe through the gallery of any listing), within the 'SIZING' section of the product description, or as a link on the product listing.
Sometimes a garment may vary by a few centimetres between garments of the same size. That's just the nature of things made by an artisan crafter, although we're doing our best to ensure consistency and our makers work hard to produce the garments that you love. -
How do I know my size?
We recommend reading the size guides carefully and measuring yourself with a tape measure, using your thumb to create a small gap between the measuring tape and your body. Then compare your measurements to the size chart to select your size.
We recommend having at least 1 - 3 inches (2.5 - 7.5 cm) allowance when selecting your size. If you’re unsure, we recommend going a size or two up for a looser fit or for tailoring.
Please see our FAQs and individual product listing descriptions for more information. -
What size is Louisa?
Hello! Louisa here, I'm the model in many of our product photos and we get this question a lot!
My height is 5’1” and my usual size is an Australian size 4-6/XS which is a US size 0-2/XS.
The size that I typically wear in our range is a size S.
For Mestiza Boleros, my shoulder width is 13.2 inches which is a size XS (13 inches). In many of the product photos, I am wearing a size S (14 inches) but I sometimes wear either size (XS or S). If you're unsure, you may like to try one size up from your shoulder measurements.
For Mestiza Dresses, I am usually a size XS but I wear a size S in our range. It's important to remember to refer to our size charts, as your ususal size may differ from your size in our products. Our dresses tend to run small, so if you're unsure, it's better to go a size or two up, as you can always tailor a dress down to your personal measurements. -
